Thermocouples and resistance thermometers

A thermocouple consists of an electrical circuit formed by two dissimilar metal conductors soldered at one end. A difference in temperature between the two junctions produces an electromotive force as a result of the Seebeck effect. The polarisation and the strength of this electromotive force depends on the properties of the two metals and the temperature to which the hot junction and reference junction are subjected: hot junction: the junction exposed to the temperature to be measured cold or reference junction: the junction between the conductors of the thermocouple and the measurement circuit.

Sensors with metal sheaths

Being robust and reliable, they provide the right solution for many applications. Different types of metal sheaths are available (AISI316, AISI310, AISI446, INCONEL600) according to the type of application, the usage conditions and temperature ranges.

Other characteristics

  • Construction: cable/insulator construction or with an oxidised mineral (MgO) insert
  • Electrical connections: head connection, compensated connector, extension cable
  • Attachment: fixed attachment, crimped connection or flange attachments

Right angle thermocouples for molten metal baths

Mechanically robust constructions for use in particularly challenging environments. These products use specific sheaths to protect the temperature sensing element depending on the bath in which they are used.

Other characteristics

  • Construction: cable/insulator construction or with an oxidised mineral (MgO) insert
  • Electrical connection: connection head

See our selection guide and contact our technical team for assistance in choosing the model best suited to your application.

Thermocouples with ceramic sheaths for high temperatures

Protective ceramic sheaths ensure durability and efficiency over time for applications with high temperatures. Although they do not perform as well from a mechanical point of view, ceramic sheathed thermocouples provide a greater level of impermeability and protection for the temperature sensing element, including through the selection of one or more ceramic sheaths of different compositions.

Other characteristics

  • Construction: cable/insulator construction or with an oxidised mineral (MgO) insert
  • Electrical connection: connection head, compensated connector
  • Attachment: fixed attachment, crimped connection or flange attachments

Thermocouple cables for contact measurements

Continual monitoring of the temperature of the piece being processed is required during heat treatments. These products ensure a high level of accuracy, flexibility and cost-effectiveness. The use of these products is regulated by industry standards such as AMS2750F and CQ19

Other characteristics

  • Construction: Cables with insulation up to 750°C, Cables with insulation up to 1200°C
